The cold water pressure washer is great for simple projects. They are cheaper and a lot smaller in size. The man con is that you will need to use detergents to properly clean most surfaces. Cold water will not kill mold spores and remove oil from surfaces. 

Hot water pressure washers are normally bigger than cold water pressure washers. They do not sell homeowner models and usually cost three times as much as a cold water pressure washer.
